About Sarah

Sarah Nottingham, RMTSarah Nottingham RMT has many passions and her passion for Massage Therapy developed at a young age. As a young child Sarah would be found at family dinners giving “shoulder rubs”.  After graduating in 2005 she has worked in a variety of clinical environments and in 2015 opened her own clinic. Sarah sees a number of different patients in her practice. From weekend warriors and competitive athletes, to expectant Moms and new born babies. She has extensive experience treating prenatal and postnatal massage therapy, along with massage for TMJ Dysfunction. Sarah’s thorough approach to care is welcomed by her patients. Treatments are customized to the patient and their specific needs and include an initial assessment and recommendations for homecare.

Another passion of Sarah’s is diversity whether its culture and food, to sports and fitness, to a variety of treatment options for her patients. She focuses her practice and has extensive clinical experience in Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage and TMJ dysfunction.

Sarah regularly takes courses and workshops to expand her knowledge and add to her “toolbox” of techniques. Post graduate courses have covered CranioSacral Therapy, Orthopedic Massage, Sports Massage, TMJ dysfunction, Cranial Mobilizations, Visceral Release, Infant Massage, Thai MassageHot Stone Massage.

Recently, she had the opportunity of studying with Dr. Tifany Field at the Touch Research Institute in Miami, Florida, where she learned the research protocols for Infant Massage Therapy. Here she had hand-ons experience of providing massage therapy to pre-term infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Holtz Children’s Hospital. A few months later, Sarah studied Infant Massage with Tina Allen- international educator, accredited author and leading expert in the field of pediatric massage. This certification course allows RMT’s to teach infant massage to parents. Sarah offers group workshops for Baby Massage for Parents. These workshops take place once a month at Baby on the Hip.

Sarah enjoys travelling and living an active lifestyle. She has been an avid runner for many years and completed a few triathlons. Sarah understands firsthand the impact that training plays on the body and how crucial bodywork is to achieve your athletic goals.

Sarah is a current member is good standing with the Ontario Massage Therapists Association and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

In Sarah’s free time you can find her working in her gardens or having an epic family snuggle-fest under a shade tree.
