Infant Massage Workshop

In May 2016, Sarah Nottingham, RMT completed an infant massage workshop hosted by Dr. Tiffany Field at the Touch Research Institute within the University of Miami. This unique workshop took place in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Holz Childrens Hospital where Sarah along with other massage therapists were taught massage therapy specifically for preterm infants. Some massage therapy goals within the NICU is to reduce effects of negative touch while being hospitalized, stimulate digestion for greater weight gain, thereby reducing length of stay in the hospital.
